Key Summary: DataPulse is built as a completely offline educational utility. We do not collect, store, transmit, track, or monetize any of your personal information, IP addresses, or learning habits.

1. Summary & Core Principles

This Privacy Policy describes how DataPulse ("we", "our", or "the App") operates with respect to user data and privacy. We believe that privacy is a fundamental human right, especially when learning technical concepts. Our application is engineered from the ground up to function entirely on your local mobile device without the need for remote servers or cloud accounts.

2. 100% Offline Architecture

All 12 curriculum chapters, 6 interactive data laboratories (Regression OLS, K-Means, Spreadsheets, Confusion Matrix, Gaussian distributions, SQL Pipeline), and 15 cheat sheet reference appendices are self-contained within the application binary.

The App does not connect to any remote server or third-party web service during regular educational usage. No internet connection is required to read chapters, adjust interactive sliders, or run quiz simulations.

3. Zero Personal Data Collection

We do not collect any Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Specifically, DataPulse does NOT collect or ask for:

  • Your name, username, or physical address
  • Your email address or phone number
  • Social media accounts or profile identifiers
  • GPS or precise geolocation data
  • Financial or credit card details
  • Contacts, SMS messages, or browsing history
  • Unique device identifiers (IMEI, MAC address, Advertising ID)

4. Device Permissions

DataPulse operates with the absolute minimum privilege model:

  • No Camera or Microphone: We never request access to your device camera or microphone.
  • No Location Access: We never request coarse or fine location permissions.
  • No External Storage Access: We do not scan or read your personal media files, photos, or documents.
  • Text-to-Speech (TTS): The optional audio reading feature utilizes the standard Android native Text-To-Speech engine already installed on your device. Audio is generated locally without sending text to any cloud service.

5. Local Storage & Cache

The App may store minimal operational data within the protected Android application sandbox on your device:

  • Quiz Progress & Streaks: High scores, streak counts, and unlocked achievements.
  • User Preferences: Dark mode preferences and reading position bookmarks.

This data is stored purely locally via standard Android shared preferences and is never synchronized to external servers. If you clear the App's storage or uninstall the App, all locally stored preferences are permanently and completely wiped.

6. Third-Party Services & Advertising

DataPulse does NOT integrate with third-party advertising SDKs, marketing networks, or behavioral trackers:

  • Zero Ad Networks (e.g., No AdMob, No Unity Ads, No AppLovin)
  • Zero Behavioral Tracking (e.g., No Facebook Pixel, No AppsFlyer)
  • Zero Commercial Analytics trackers (e.g., No Mixpanel, No Amplitude)

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA & PEGI 3 / Everyone)

DataPulse is suitable for learners of all ages, including children and students, and is rated PEGI 3 / Everyone. Because we do not collect any personal information whatsoever, we comply fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and related child privacy standards.

8. Security & Data Retention

Because we do not transmit or store personal data on remote servers, there is no risk of cloud data breaches, credential leaks, or unauthorized remote access to your learning activity. Your local application data is protected by the native Android sandbox security model.

9. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Under various global privacy frameworks (including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act):

  • Right of Access & Portability: Since we hold no personal data on our servers, there is no centralized profile to request.
  • Right of Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You have complete and instantaneous control. Simply clearing the application cache in your Android settings or uninstalling the app deletes 100% of locally saved data.
  • Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell or share personal data; therefore, no opt-out request is necessary.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect app enhancements or legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date". We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
